Aircom distributes orifice plates manufactured by a world leader in plate fabrication. Plates are manufactured to stringent requirements subject to rigorous tests before being accepted by Aircom.
Stainless steel plates are specifically purchased for the job required. Individual plates are then water cut, ensuring no heat distortion happens, since distortion is a possibility with conventional welding.
The plates are then surface finished to less than 30 micro-inch tolerance – controlled by our special finishing machines, designed to preserve plate flatness. Identification of plates is done by lightly stamping the material heat number, tag number, rating, and bore size. Final CMM inspection is always part of the complete package ensuring our customers receive exactly what was ordered.
Orifice plates are used in industrial piping systems to create a controlled restriction in the flow path. Depending on the application, they can support differential pressure flow measurement or be used as restriction orifice plates to help control flow, reduce pressure, or meet process requirements.
Aircom offers both flow orifice plates and restriction orifice plates, including universal style and paddle style configurations.
The Aircom UFC universal style flow orifice plate is designed for flow measurement applications and is interchangeable in orifice fittings and RTJ plate holders.
Common options include:
The Aircom URC universal style restriction orifice plate is used where a controlled restriction is required in the piping system. Like the UFC model, it is interchangeable in orifice fittings and RTJ plate holders.
Common options include:
The Aircom OFC paddle style flow orifice plate is designed for flow measurement applications in orifice flange sets and assemblies.
Common options include:
The Aircom ORC paddle-style restriction orifice plate is used where a fixed restriction is required in the process line.
Common options include:
Aircom orifice plates are manufactured to recognized industry standards, including AGA Report 3, API 14.3.2, GPA 8185-00, ASME MFC-3M and ISO 5167-2.
Bore tolerances are specified by bore diameter, with tighter tolerances applied to smaller bore sizes. Aircom’s process also includes surface finishing, product identification and final CMM inspection to help ensure the plate matches the customer’s order.
The right orifice plate depends on the application and process requirements.
Choose a flow orifice plate when the primary goal is differential pressure flow measurement.
Choose a restriction orifice plate when the goal is to create a controlled pressure drop or flow restriction.
Key selection factors include:
Aircom can help customers review sizing, configuration, material, bore diameter and application requirements for flow and restriction orifice plates.
